Kalinga Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar


KIIT as a technical Institute made an humble beginning in 1992 through the establishment of an Industrial Training Institute in a rented premises with only 12 students. Within a short span of time, it grew to be one of the finest technical and management education centres in India offering Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Technology, Master in Computer Application and Master in Business Administration, besides Certificate programme in engineering and +2 Science.


The institution has the unique distinction of becoming the youngest Deemed University of the country within six years of its commencement of Undergraduate programme. KIIT has now opened up KIMS, which will focus on health education through its Medical College, Dental College and Nursing School. A blend of latest technological know-how, skilled professionals, diversified R&D with dedicated faculties having a passion for knowledge represent KIIT at the highest echelon of education. Like every other constituent programme, the Health education programme leading to the Degree of MBBS, BDS and Nursing under KIMS would keep the KIIT flagship ahead of others.

Bhadrak Institute of Engineering and Technology, Bhadrak


Bhadrak Institute of Engineering & Technology (BIET) was established in the year 1982 as a Diploma Institute with the initiative of some prominent citizens, academicians and politicians and support from the Government of Orissa. The Degree programme started in the year 1997, M.C.A course in 1998 and M.B.A course in the year 2002


The institute is registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. Its management and control rests with a Board of Governors, which includes prominent citizens and representatives of the Government of Orissa, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi, Directorate of Technical Education & Training (DTE & T), Orissa and Biju Pattnaik University of Technology. It has completed 20 years of existence since its inception as an institute for imparting technical and professional education in various fields of engineering, Technology and Management. Spread over an area of 100 acres of land and situated far away from the madding crowd, the campus provides a calm and serine environment for dedicated academic pursuits. The campus is self contained with a Public Health Center (PHC), a Post Office, a Shopping Centre, Xerox Centres, Pay Phone Booths, Multigym, a Canteen and other amenities required for community living.


........BIET is a life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). Also there is an ISTE student's chapter, which conducts seminars/workshops and other related activities from time to time.

CEB established in the year 1999 under Nabadigant Educational Trust is engaged in Engineering education, research and other developmental programmers in the state of Orissa. The college has been reaching to greater heights over the years under the leadership of Er.Prabhat Ranjan Mallick (A man with vision and mission). The college prepares its graduating students for challenging careers through very rigorous teaching, training in an integrated approach. The innovative teaching-learning methodology ensures thorough grounding of
students in various fields of engineering and concurrently develops in them the requisite pragmatism to test and apply these concepts in real life. It being a self-financing technical institution has graduated its students in a uniform pattern of living with zest providing co-education, impervious research value and awareness among students.


CEB is situated in a picturesque 12 acres area of campus the campus has splendid buildings for each department fully equipped with all modern gadgets in respective labs and workshops. It is now fully operational in its new infrastructure located at heart of the Bhubaneswar. CEB is a technical institution that inexorably propels you to that greatest lamp in the east, with the help of which one can easily step on to that platform from where he visualizes his career with total clarity and is able to appreciate the fulfillment of life through technology. The college is located in the heart of
the temple city of Bhubaneswar. NIST (National Institute of Science and Technology, Berhampur, Orissa)


About NIST


It has been the desire of many engineering technocrats originating from Orissa that an engineering institute of international standard needs to be established in Orissa. This was the motivating factor behind the establishment of the National Institute of Science & Technology. This institute was set up and is managed by the SM Charitable Educational Trust with the aim of promoting higher technical education. This is not only first engineering college under Berhampur University but also the first one in Orissa aiming to become a center of excellence in technical education at par with the best universities of the world.


Orissa accounts for a mere 3 percent of the engineers graduating each year in the nation, which is an abysmally low figure. This has led to an acute shortage of trained technical manpower in Orissa, which in turn leads to lowered industrial growth and productivity. In this era of globalization and industrial resurgence of India, there is an urgent need for highly educated, dynamic and self-motivated engineers to usher in a new spirit of technological leadership. The National Institute of Science and Technology aims to fulfill this need.

JITM(Jagannath Institute for Technology and Management, Paralakhemundi, Orissa)


Jagannath Institute for Technology and Management was established in the year 1997. JITM took birth out of the vision of Shri Alluri Murthy Raju and was established under the JITM trust. The institute was set up with the aim to bring technical education to the rural areas and producing highly skilled technical personnel with exceptional calibre for various sectors in the industry.


We are a self-financing institute and were affiliated to Berhampur University. JITM got affiliated to the Biju Pattnaik University Of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela from the academic year 2003 - 2004. The institute has also been granted recognition under the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).


JITM is spread over 70 acres and is surrounded by hills that add to the scenic beauty and create a tranquil atmosphere-an ideal environment for learning. JITM is situated in Paralakhemundi, a town of historical significance and famous for its culture in the Gajapati district of Orissa.


The institute has grown from its small beginnings since 1997. Today JITM boasts of sophisticated laboratories and support infrastructure across all departments. These include more than 200 Personal Computers with LAN controlled by high-end servers loaded with advanced software in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, PLC based trainers in the Instrumentation Lab, Computerized Process Controlled Communication Lab, Sophisticated equipments in Mass Transfer, Chemical Reaction Engineering and Process Control, Universal Testing Machine, Milling Machine, Precision Drilling Machine and a well equipped Fluid Mechanics Lab.


Since its inception, JITM has drawn upon the experience of highly qualified faculty. The institute today is proud of the fact that it has a strong and committed teaching fraternity. Our faculty have played a pivotal role in shaping the character of the institute as a center for excellence in imparting technical education. The institute has always been committed to strengthen its infrastructure and has established an optic fiber backbone for the campus-based intranet. It is upgrading its VSAT based internet connectivity by establishing 256-Kbps leased line, which runs through the entire campus. We are committed to provide seamless internet connectivity round the clock to all our students and faculty by the end of this academic year.

Mission

  • To attract quality students in appropriate numbers and cater to their needs so that their potential can be fully developed. Students will be trained to a high level of self-confidence in their knowledge and ability ensuring highly ease of placement.

  • To develop programs in areas of community need such as vocational training for youth at affordable cost, orient the research & development activities to local needs and make technology work for local communities by making it focused on agriculture and related activities such as food preservation and processing, bio-technology, water harvesting, organic agriculture, low cost building technologies etc., collaborate with organizations such as Auroville Center for Scientific Research, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT, Bangkok) and Gandhigram Rural University, Tamilnadu etc. in such activities.

  • Take steps to initiate programs in architecture, civil engineering, environmental engineering, bio-technology, agricultural engineering and agriculture/veterinary science in the long term as well as focused post-graduate programs in selected inter-disciplinary areas such as Disaster Mitigation, Alternative Energy Studies, Sustainability Science, Food Technology etc.

  • Create resource, training and demonstration centers in areas of appropriate technology relevant to local problems. These activities should be directly integrated with the research & development efforts of the faculty, students and staff, create production centers in areas of agriculture, horticulture, pisciculture, plant nursery, food processing and preservation with the objective of revenue generation as well as technology dissemination.

  • To achieve balanced growth and robust financial self sustainability including adequate return on investment of financial institutions and other investors including, but not largely dependent on student fees.
