KIIT as a technical Institute made an humble beginning in 1992 through the establishment of an Industrial Training Institute in a rented premises with only 12 students. Within a short span of time, it grew to be one of the finest technical and management education centres in India offering Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Technology, Master in Computer Application and Master in Business Administration, besides Certificate programme in engineering and +2 Science.
The institution has the unique distinction of becoming the youngest Deemed University of the country within six years of its commencement of Undergraduate programme. KIIT has now opened up KIMS, which will focus on health education through its Medical College, Dental College and Nursing School. A blend of latest technological know-how, skilled professionals, diversified R&D with dedicated faculties having a passion for knowledge represent KIIT at the highest echelon of education. Like every other constituent programme, the Health education programme leading to the Degree of MBBS, BDS and Nursing under KIMS would keep the KIIT flagship ahead of others.
